VME awarded dehydration and desalting project for Nassiriya Degassing Station (Thiqar, Iraq)

In April of 2020, VME was awarded a dehydration and desalting project for the Nassiriya Degassing Station in Thiqar, Iraq. The contract comes through Progetti Europa & Global for the end user Thiqar Oil Company. 

VME’s scope of supply on this project was the process sizing and design of the first stage dehydrator and second stage desalter and their associated piggyback degassers. Along with the process design and supply, VME’s provision also included the design and manufacture of the associated degassing and electrostatic internals, transformers and local control panels.

VME completed this project in an aggressive 18-week timeline from their Tyler, Texas facilities. The station was designed to treat 49,000 barrels of oil, and 20,000 barrels of water per day; bringing the oil down to a pipeline exportation specification of 0.5% BS&W and <30 mg/l of free salt.
